Our expertise
Helix has been involved in the design, manufacture, and installation of equipment in more than 80% of orthodox tea factories in Sri Lanka, and many across East Africa. The first Orthodox tea factory in East Africa was built by Helix in 1998.
We've successfully executed engineering projects in Sri Lanka, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Japan, each tailored to local industrial needs.

With over three decades of experience, Helix is owned and led by a third-generation tea-growing family, currently one of the largest orthodox tea producers in Sri Lanka.
Orthodox tea processing
Having built the first Orthodox tea factory in East Africa in 1998, Helix has progressively drawn from operational feedback from our 10 lines across Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. We have continuously refined our machinery and processes to suit the unique character of each country's leaf and meet the increasing demand for leafy Orthodox teas that match true-to-type Ceylon tea grades.
